Mid-States Aluminum Celebrates Wisconsin Manufacturing Month

Fond du Lac, Wis. – October 20, 2020 – Offering its associates, a grab-and-go lunch last Wednesday, Mid-States Aluminum celebrated October as Wisconsin’s manufacturing month in a non-traditional way.

“We had to be creative and carefully plan how to execute the celebration, specifically limiting the number of associates, who would be in the area at the same time,” comments Robin Bergan, director of human resources at Mid-States Aluminum.  Unable to gather as a group to introduce and relay the message about manufacturing’s importance to the Wisconsin economy, Mid-States stuffed lunch bags with flyers highlighting facts about manufacturing in Wisconsin and the value manufacturing brings to the state economy.

“We also took the opportunity to kick-off our recruiting efforts internally by giving each associate a brochure detailing careers and career progression at Mid-States,” states Bergan.  “We want our associates to talk to family and friends about manufacturing and the opportunities available here.”

Bergan explains that the event was a success because it allowed associates to do something fun and take a break from the regular routine.

Employing more than 250 full-time associates, Mid-States Aluminum Corp. is a vertically-integrated manufacturer of custom aluminum extrusions with machining and forming capabilities as well as in-house anodizing.
